CFGP and Rothman Orthopaedics Spring Health Care Forum: Pain Management and the Opioid Crisis

This event brought together health care practitioners and executives from our area who are regularly impacted by the opioid crisis. Our speakers shared their thoughts on pain management and patients with addiction. Guest speakers included:

Fall Philanthropic Workshop Series: Website Best Practices and Prioritizing Your Development Efforts

Gillespie Group's Vice President, Mike Gillespie, Jr. and CFGP's Associate Director of Mission Advancement Services, Emily Gambino, discussed web design and content marketing for nonprofits and gave effective and efficient tips to prioritizing development goals.

 

 

 

 

 

Women in Philanthropy Luncheon

October 16th, 2018

This annual luncheon celebrates women leaders who inspire others in philanthropy and faith. Women in Philanthropy 2018 honored Dr. Rosalie M. Mirenda, President Emeritus of Neumann University with the Love in Action Award. The Love in Action Award is given to a female leader and philanthropist who has bettered her community through her love of the Faith and dedication to service. Women in Philanthropy 2018 also featured guest speakers from the first beneficiary organization of CFGP’s Women in Philanthropy Leadership Fund, the Gianna Center of Philadelphia.

 

Spring Philanthropic Workshop Series: Navigating the New Tax Law and the Future of Planned Giving

May 22nd, 2018

CFGP’s Planned Giving and Development Officer, Ms. Kelly Diaz-Albertini, Esq., informed workshop attendees of what to expect from the new tax law, evaluating the challenges and opportunities in ‘The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.’ Ms. Diaz-Albertini also hosted a segment on the future of planned giving where she discussed development strategies and the role of professional advisors to help create a planned gift pipeline.

 

 

Catholic Athletes for Christ Philadelphia Kick-Off

May 17th, 2018

Catholic Athletes for Christ (CAC), a nationally recognized nonprofit that helps Catholic athletes share the Gospel through athletics, officially launched in Philadelphia in May of 2018. To celebrate their arrival, CAC worked with CFGP to host a kick-off celebration, attended by local, Archdiocesan athletes and their families. Event highlights also included the appearances of special guests Jason Avant (former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver), Dwight Gooden (former Major League Baseball pitcher), Bernie Parent (former Philadelphia Flyers goal tender) and the Phillie Phanatic!

Fall Philanthropic Workshop Series: Donor Centricity

CFGP’s Fall 2017 Philanthropic Workshop Series focused on donor centricity and mission-driven fundraising and development strategies. CFGP’s Emily Gambino, Associate Director of Mission Advancement Services, and Joanne Beck, Marketing Manager, returned as our guest speakers.

 

 

 

 

Women in Philanthropy Forum

October 18th, 2017

Women in Philanthropy 2017 brought in expert panelists who revealed the future of philanthropy in the hands of Millennials, and how to inspire new generations to engage in charity. Our guest panelists from the forum included:

  • Pat Ciarrocchi: Former CBS 3 Anchor (moderator)
  • Sister Donna Shallo, IHM: Former President of Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls
  • Jacki Delaney: Chair of the Archbishop’s Benefit for Children (ABC)
  • Joanna Bowen: Director of the Augustinian Volunteers

 

 

Spring Philanthropic Workshop Series: Grant Writing and the CFGP Grant Application Process

CFGP’s Spring Philanthropic Workshop Series discussed the basics of writing grant proposals, what foundations look for when reviewing applications, and best practices when working with potential funders. Speakers included Ms. Emily Gambino, Manager of Mission Advancement Services for CFGP, Mrs. Joanne Beck, Marketing Manager for CFGP (pictured), and Mr. David Chiles, Executive Director of Providence Center.

Fall Philanthropic Workshop: Online Giving Overview & Parish Data Systems (PDS) Software Training

November 15th, 2016

CFGP’s Fall Philanthropic Workshop Series featured a segment with Ms. Emily Gambino, Manager of Mission Advancement Services at CFGP (pictured), where she discussed the importance of online giving. Ms. Amy Mensch of R&S Design Computer Services was also a guest speaker and explored the reporting capabilities of Church Office, a part of the Parish Data Systems (PDS) software.

 

Women in Philanthropy Forum

September 29th, 2016

CFGP’s inaugural Women in Philanthropy Forum brought 160 guests together to network and listen to influential guest speakers, inlcuding:

  • Barbara Henkels, founder of the Regina Academies
  • Sandra Baldino, founder of the Generocity Community Alliance
  • Betsy Courtney, Chief Development Officer at St. Joseph’s Preparatory School
  • Catherine Klein, Cheshire Nonprofit Law (moderator)

The speakers answered questions that covered best practices for attracting donors of different ages and giving levels and how to excel in a career in philanthropy.

Spring 2016 Philanthropic Workshop Series

May 11th, 2016

Our Spring 2016 Philanthropic Workshop Series focused on two development topics:

  • Engaging your Board members and volunteers - Presenters included: Sara P. Marks, Director of Franciscan Volunteers, the Sisters of Saint Francis of Philadelphia
  • Developing and Implementing a Strategic Fundraising Plan - Presenters included: Sarah O. Hanley, Director of Development and Fundraising Services, CFGP (pictured), and Mike Gillespie, Jr., VP of Client Services, Gillespie Group.
